Does anyone recognise this building?

Bit of a long shot but here we go!

I’ve just bought a signed photo of my grandfather on eBay (he used to be a TV presenter back in the day) and in the picture he is standing in front of a large building. I would love to know where it was taken so I wondered if anyone recognised it?

Thanks!

I wondered if it was the old Naval College at Greenwich but a quick Google suggests not.

Good guess with the pillars though!

He worked in the West Country so I would imagine it’s down south somewhere.

Looks quite like the buildings adjoining St James' Park.

Did a Google lens on it... The Old Mansion in Paignton!

*Oldest, rather

Glad to have helped. 😌
How lovely to find a signed photo of your DGF on eBay! An old fan of his must have been selling it.

LadyFoxtrot · 17/09/2020 16:06

Yes it was lovely! I search his name and ‘signed’ now and again, as I once managed to find a signed copy of his autobiography, but I’ve never seen a photo before!

I recognize your grandfather, but cannot now remember his name!

LadyFoxtrot · 17/09/2020 18:42

@Arthersleep David Young! He used to present architecture shows on Meridan about villages and old buildings Smile
