hello mumsnet,
posting this here for quick traffic, as not getting responses on craft board
Its DPs birthday tommorow and I have done nothing!
First of all we have no money, as we've been waiting for payment from our clients that has not arrived (was expected this week)
Secondly, I have been terribly poorly all week- which may or may not be covid, resulting in me isolating myself.

So it's DPs birthday tomorrow and hes told me he doesn't want anything, but to let it pass without so much as a card is just so sad after the awful year we are all experiencing.

Ive been googling home made/DIY gifts but can't find anything that suits...

Can anyone throw me any craft/DIY ideas that I could do today or prehaps whilst he is working tommorow? ...any ideas for homemade cards, gifts, any way to mark the occasion at home? Im actaully really stuck. Not feeling very well is also taking a big toll.

Any inspiration or suggestions very warmly welcomed! Thanks!

Could you bake a cake?
Write out a suitable poem?
Make him breakfast in bed?

Cook a special dinner?

The only time I made a card I wrote Happy Birthday on the front, used a needle to punch holes at various points and then sewed through them with an up and back stitch. I included some a few small beads but they weren't necessary.

Very simple but loads of people said they were really impressed with it!

Cake and rumpy pumpy is all most men really want. Maybe with a few beers.

thank you for suggestions, I dug out a friendship bracelet book and made one!
He doesnt usually wear any jewellery but he had said in the past if i ever made him something he would wear it.... i think he will appreciate the effort if nothing else.
Ive made a simple handmade card with our picture on the front.
I'm hoping I feel better tommorow and i will go to the shops and get stuff to make a cake prehaps and for a nice meal (even though my cooking is not good!) .. ill decorate the house while he's at work and hope he appreciates it...

Any other suggestions to make the day special on a budget would be happily received!

Including simple cake recipes!! As I've said my cooking is laughable so I would love any suggestions/recipes!
