Kids all in school. I’m totally isolated at home. I really need a change but don’t know what I want to do or where to even start making changes.

Anyone made a big change in their life at 50?

I don’t want to work at what I used to do and no idea what options I have.

You mean you’ve been a SAHM and want to do sth now? You could always retrain or volunteer, pick up hobbies etc

Yes I was 50 and in your situation. I started volunteering in a local school nursery, then they offered me an apprenticeship to do the level 3 early years qualification. I qualified last year and I now work there 3 days a week.

I am in the first stages of studying accountancy (distance learning AAT level 2 then 3)
I can't work as a carer anymore, I'm not physically able. I pay monthly instalments for my course and so far so good ( except for the test centre exams being hard to book because of covid. But they can wait til the end of necessary so will be ok)
I became a carer by default because of universal credit forcing both DH and I to look for work - it's all that's available here without qualifications, and my degrees are 20 years old, so care work it was. It nearly killed me, so am retraining.
