How to ask if there will be anybody else coming

A friend of mine has invited me to her house for dinner next week, we aren’t exactly close friends but we get on well.

She’s friendly with a group of women and socialises with them a lot, I’ve never met them so I would feel quite uneasy if they’re going to be going to. (And no If they are going too, I wouldn’t want to her to uninvite them, I’d just go and try to relax my nerves)

Anyway, how do I ask her on text if there will be other people going with saying it so upfront? As I’m not close with her, I’d need to ask discreetly so that she doesn’t work out I’m nervous around people I don’t know

“Thanks again for the dinner invite! Really looking forward to catching up. Will it be just us?”

Or “Do you want me to bring dessert for Tuesday? How many of us will it be?”

Ask if she wants you to bring dessert...and how many for?

Gladgreengrass · 16/09/2020 20:39

Quick text should do it , "Hello X, Looking forward to xday, may I bring a pudding or some nibbles, what would suit? What are numbers? Mummabear"

Just say "Fab, I'll bring dessert. How many people will it need to be for?"
