Nottingham suburbs

I'm looking at buying a house in Notts and would like to know what some of the areas are like to live in. I'm looking at the Carlton and Gedling areas near westdale lane. Are there any areas to avoid in these suburbs? Thanks in advance

Nottingham born and bred here. The area you're looking at is fine, that side is a lot nicer than the area near Colwick which is one to avoid.

I live in that area off Westdale lane, agree with the above poster. You could also look at Mapperley (around the top of Westdale) which is also a nice area but a little more expensive than Carlton/Gedling.
