Job interview help

My 19 year old niece has an interview on Friday. It’s her first proper interview, so she’s worrying what they could ask her. Any heads up as to what they will ask?

It’s for a store team member at a ‘Wilko’s’ type of shop.

Shops want helpful staff, those who tow the line and are pleasant

They may give her ‘if a customer asks for X and it’s not in stock... what would you do?

A lot of places use situational questions nowadays. They will want an example of something she has done and how it improved things.

E.g..

"Working in store can mean that you may have an angry customer. Can you tell us of a time when you have had to deal with someone who was angry or stressed and how you dealt with it?"

The answer to any situation question should always be

  1. What the issue was
  2. What I did in the moment to fix it
  3. What the outcome was

It would be handy if she could think up on advance things which she can use as examples (lots of things may cross over categories).

They don't (really), need to all be entirely truthful, no one is checking, but they do need to follow the method above and for her to be quite clear in what she did/how that made things better.
