AIBU to Call Unconscious Sexism?

Currently having a debate with a local vicar, who apparently can't be sexist because he's gay & thinks I'm over sensitive, so I'm wondering what you all would think of the following...

disclaimer, I am having a tetchy day due to noisy builders outside my window & lack of sleep due to even noisier new students

You put a post on a local noticeboard, precise & to the point & asking for recommendations on a repair shop for a particular model. The first 2 replies are from men explaining that it's probably still under warranty & how to use the warranty to get a free repair😐 no recommendations at all, so ignore my actual question

I've politely pointed out that it wasn't what I asked & presumes I was too dim to think of the obvious & therefore comes across as sexist.

Interested in other women's & mend take on this as at the moment I only have male replies & they seem to miss the actual point & are pushing home they were only trying to be helpful 🤦‍♀️

Couldn’t you amend your post so it’s clear it’s not under warranty? But yes I see what you are saying.

Thank you. I have done that & thanks for seeing my point

No, I'd find that quite patronising too.

They may well not have meant to be sexist, but it won't do them any harm to have it pointed out.

Your vicar is a twat, though. Plenty of gay men are sexist.

And report the students to their university for having parties.
