Is this a panic attack?

I have been struggling with my ibs recently. Last night after having a yucky toilet trip I found I got pain in my back and stomach, sweaty palms, flushed face, faint and couldn’t breath. After 30 minutes it all calmed down and felt better.

This morning though I feel not with it still and feel like I have a temperature.

I think it was a panic attacked last night so is this normal to feel not right the next day?

It may have been I've had bowel issues for years and after a bad episode I always feel horrible just as you described I think. It's the body saying wtf was that. I hope you feel better soon

Sometimes the bowel can stimulate the vagus nerve, and vice versa also I think. The trigger and oversensitivity can generate various things that panic attacks can.

Unfortunately this is also classically messed around by hormones and time of the month with me - the rest of the time I can be reasonably sure it won't ramp up but still it seems to come out of the blue and yet, in fact, be following a similar timing to before. Don't know what the connection is but progesterone's the closest I have got as an explanation.

Thanks both, my period is actually due any time so it could also be hormones affecting me as well right now.
