New kitchen fitted. New fridge freezer arrives. I’m wiping down counters. Toddler wants to help and takes the sponge I’ve left on the counter.

Washes and wipes the fridge. Scourer side down.

New fridge freezer. Just plugged in. Shiny it isn’t anymore. 😭

My DH was 😲

What’s been your mishap?!!?

I feel your pain!!! My two year old decided to help her dad wash my brand new car (first new one I ever had) unfortunately he used a sponge and she used a handful of stones 😱 she's now 22 and it's a good story!!

Ring the supplier & explain, they might send you a replacement free, but if not, they're not expensive.

Or embrace the individual style you now have.

(Where did you get your cabinets from? Are you happy with them? What colour etc. I still can't decide!)

Used the oven's self-cleaning mode but didn't realise you're supposed to remove the racks. They've now got a 'mottled' look instead of the lovely shiny silver!

I think I would have been more upset at the car @poochiemaloochie at least mines in the hundreds range and not thousands!

@MJMG2015 I don’t think they’d replace a fridge freezer because of my own fault! We got our kitchen as a diy from B and Q flat pack range!

@AtLeastThreeDrinks must remember this post when I go to oven clean!

So now you have a brushed silver fridge? Tres chic!

We bought a lovely black American style fridge freezer a long time ago, we were so excited about it, it was the nicest thing in our kitchen for all of about a day. And then my niece came round and used her mums keys and did some nice carvings on the doors Grin oh well, we just covered them up with those magnetic photo sticker things!!
Also, dh once scoured my entire car with a fucking Brillo pad in a bizarre attempt to clean it! I have never ever forgiven him and any time I do something remotely wrong I trot this one out to him Grin

um, not sure I would consider a new fridge freezer as not expensive!

years ago, we hade just finally bought a flat screen tv about 2 weeks before christmas( way after most people had upgraded!) using some money we had got unexpectedly. We were managing on one salary at the time and money was very tight. Christmas morning dc were in the lounge playing with their new toys, when an argument broke out and some how ds aged 4, managed to throw a toy car which hit the TV and smashed the screen! We were gutted.
ds is 22 now and we still reminisce about the Christmas he managed to smash our new TV!
