Menopause and the mirena coil?

I've had mirena coil for 10 years. Been brilliant. Had either no period at all or 2hrs of spotting once a month. Fantastic.

Im now peri menopausal and my periods gone nuts. They are coming every 10days, then nothing, then bleed for a day, then 7 days off then 2hrs of spotting then nothing then 20 days then 3 days bleeding. Literally no pattern or sense to it snd its driving me nuts.
Has anyone else experienced this? Surely its not going to go on like this for next 3-5years??

Yes, me too, exactly as you say. Been 1 1/2 years now but seems .... seems ... to be lightening.

I had my first Mirena put in when I was 46 and perimenopausal and it stopped my periods completely after 18 months of my cycle going bonkers as you describe.

Does your Mirena need replacing, by any chance? If it's the same one you've had for ten years it definitely does, and even if you've had two in that time they need replacing every five years as far as I know.
