Two Numbers on One Phone

DiL works from home and has an old phone which she uses for keeping in touch with clients. She turns it off at six o'clock in the evening and then on again the next morning. This because some of her clients live OS and like constant updates. She makes things.

The phone is on its way out and she wondered if it's possible to have two numbers one one phone, rather than buy another one for work purposes. And if it is, could she turn it off like she does now?

TIA

You’ll need a dual sim phone.

Thanks, I'll pass that on.

Yes it is - you can get phones with a dual SIM facility. I'm not sure if you can turn one SIM off independently of the other though.

Well, at least she knows what to ask for now. Thanks.

Dual SIM for professionalism. Otherwise (Android) there's a whole host of fiddles you can do for the "Do Not Disturb" feature. You can set schedules and profiles so that only starred numbers (i.e family) can get through at certain times.

Alternatively you could get a VOIP number and app, and use that as the business number. Again it could be diverted to voicemail on a schedule.
