Popping ears - why are all our ears popping, is it something in the air?

I live in a shared house (sort of a commune).

Last week one of my ears was really blocked and I kept going a bit deaf on that side. Since then both my ears have been really "poppy".

Yesterday my teenager came down for breakfast and complained that his ears kept popping. Then, about 15 minutes later, another housemate came in the kitchen and immediately started telling me that her ears have been driving her mad popping all the time.

Then late last night another person who lives here came in from work and said his ears have been crackling and popping for days.

Is it something in the atmosphere at the moment? Are anyone elses ears popping?

(Just to clarify, none of us have been ill, no earaches, no high temperatures, nothing to give any indication of an illness causing it).

I get that when I'm dehydrated and lacking in sleep

How odd. I woke up yesterday and my right ear is blocked.

I've tried to clean it and unpop it by pinching my nose doing all sorts but it still hasn't shifted.

Really annoying as I wear a headset for work and can only hear out of my left ear.

No clue what's up, I have no pain or anything but would welcome suggestions on how else I could rectify it!

Got me thinking now OP that something weird is going on. Either that or just a strange coincidence!

Air pressure changing

Must be air pressure then. We definitely aren't all dehydrated and lacking sleep!
