1st baby - DP working 3 hrs away - when should he stop?

Would appreciate advice please.

DP works away a couple of days a week, usually spending one night there, about 3 hours drive / 2 hours in v quiet times. He doesn't absolutely have to, he can wfh and does the rest of the week, but it's better if he can have some presence each week. Obviously he will have paternity leave once baby is here.

Baby is due 11 October. First baby, no complications, hospital is a 10-30 min drive traffic depending (London).

When should he stop working away? 37 weeks as its technically full term? 39? 40?

Thanks

My first pregnancy was low risk and my waters went spontaneously at 34+4. I know it's not the norm but I'd be nervous bout anything after mid 30s.
