The Way We Were

Not the film, but the song of the same title from said film's soundtrack. Which version - Barbra Streisand or Gladys Knight - do you prefer ? I've listened to both back to back this afternoon and, though they are quite different, they are equally good. Two great renditions of a classic 70s ballad.

Gladys Knight for me.

I'm sure there must be versions other than the two I've mentioned but I can't think of any offhand.

Gladys probably pips Barbara to the post but it's very very close.

Gladys is great but it's inextricably linked with Barbra for me (not to objectify him but how impossibly beautiful Robert Redford was in the film ). I can't enthuse about Babs enough to be fair.

I love both. I love the talky it atvthe beginning of the gladys version and I love the soaring purity of the babs version

I've only heard Babs, but as I love the film it's not likely that I'd prefer Gladys.

I think Gladys is in the lead so far. Just as an aside, I can't imagine Barbra Streisand singing Midnight Train To Georgia.

Has anyone seen the film The Way We Were ? I haven't.
