What song best describes your relationship?

Broken relationship or happy relationship..
The song that best described the relationship with my ex partner is "what about us" by Pink.
He promised me the world but gave me nothing but heartache. Every time I listen to it, it just summed up everything I felt during that time.
Looking forward to seeing other responses :)

Etta James' At Last. Or The Proclaimers Sunshine On Leith.

xanthippe8 · 14/09/2020 14:43

Ex H...one of my turns by Pink Floyd!

Pipandmum · 14/09/2020 14:44

'You are my world' - the Communards version is best.
My husband passed away almost 11 years ago, only seven years into our marriage and I miss him every single day. I wish I had told him I loved hm more.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 14/09/2020 14:44

Still the same as on our wedding day (it was our first dance) Together you and I by Dolly Parton.

GrimmWesenVoge · 14/09/2020 14:45

Shania Twain, You're still the one.

Twenty years together and still very much in love 😍

Puppy72 · 14/09/2020 15:03

@pipandmum genuinely, my eyes teared up reading yours 😢😢 xx ❤️ xx I'm sure that he knew how loved he was xxx

Paul Heaton and Jackie Abbott..I don't see them.

sunset900 · 14/09/2020 15:51

Blow me (one last kiss) by pink, cracking song and sums it up perfectly

ElvisPresleysSideburns · 14/09/2020 15:53

Came onto say Shania Twain, You're Still The One too.

Tinacollada · 14/09/2020 15:55

Ghost Town by The Specials

ginghamtablecloths · 14/09/2020 16:00

So sorry Pipandmum I do understand your pain. My late husband and I were not naturally demonstrative but I hope he knew he was loved.

My song would be (You're the) Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me by Gladys Knight and the Pips.

For a really old 'un there's Hello Young Lovers from the film The King and I (yes, I know it's ancient) but it sums up that although I'm widowed I do not begrudge young couples their happiness.

WindsorBlues · 14/09/2020 16:03

Digsys dinner - Oasis

Puppy72 · 14/09/2020 16:03

@ginghamtablecloths this is lovely and such a nice outlook to have. I can only imagine how it feels by my parents, my mum and dad were married 39 years and my dad is now widowed. X

Sorry that's should have been Married with Children - Oasis. 😂

Puppy72 · 14/09/2020 16:13

@WindsorBlues I did wonder hahaha

A Thousand Years - first dance at our wedding.

Soozikinzii · 14/09/2020 16:23

Have I told you lately that I love you ? Van Morrison. It says Ease my troubles. After 38 years marriage I think there's not so many songs about long lasting love x

AriesTheRam · 14/09/2020 16:41

Stuck on you by Lionel Ritchie

OhYeahYouSuck · 14/09/2020 16:53

Shining Light by Annie Lennox. Love the song and the words are so relevant to us.

courtwood · 14/09/2020 17:07

The voyage by Christy Moore, it just sums up our life, I love the chorus:
Life is an ocean
Love is a boat
In troubled waters it keeps us afloat
When we started the voyage there was just me and you
Now gathered round us we have our own crew

Bettercallsaul1 · 14/09/2020 17:51

I love that Van Morrison song as well, Soozikinsii!

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 14/09/2020 17:55

It was Something Just Like This by Coldplay and The Chainsmokers. It wasn't perfect but it was everything I wanted.

But it didn't work out :(

DS2 says All By Myself is my song Hmm. Apparently he's going to play it at my funeral. To be fair I have been single for most of his life.
