HELP! My screen has gone blank. Phone still working - alarm went off - but I can't see anything. Has my phone died?

Nooooooooooo! This is my worst nightmare!

Is there anyone techy out there who can help, please?

You need to do a hard reset. Have a look online it will show you how.

Thanks Leave I keep trying to do this but it doesn't seem to work...

That would be my nightmare too! Are you able to call into your phone provider today?

BeenAndCameBack · 14/09/2020 09:49

I think I will have to take it to a phone repair shop.

Tempted to just order a new phone. This is my DH's old one and it's not been quite right lately.

Oh my! I didn't realise how much I rely on it!

How old is the phone? Our sons 2.5yr old iPhone 10 home screen became unresponsive despite even a hard reset on Friday. Rang Apple support and they say it's a known fault with the 10 at around this age & are repairing (replacing) under warranty for us. They've sent out a box to return (arrived Saturday morning!) At first support said they couldn't do anything but when DH asked to speak to a manager the manager said it was a known fault.

Yeah I know, have you got photos/numbers backed up?

BeenAndCameBack · 14/09/2020 09:55

Not sure how old it is, but that sounds lucky!

No, nothing backed up but I use it mostly for communicating with friends and family. Urghhhhhhh

Anyone have any other ideas, please?

If you can't do the hard reset or hard reset doesn't work & you don't want to try your luck with Apple support you've no other option than to get a new phone if it's out of warranty.

Yeah...have just brought it to the repairs people in town. Fingers crossed!
