Do your kids play out unsupervised?

Started another thread this morning asking where to move to where the kids still play out! Got some interesting responses on the type of living which make it more possible (estates etc).

But wondering - do your kids play out unsupervised? Is this still happening?

So sad for my kids that they don’t. And wish they could!

Mine did from young but we originally were living on a tiny private poorly maintained road (no one drove over 10mph because you would damage your car) then on a cul de sac with lots of kids

Yes mine are age 11 and 8 and have played out from about age 7.
The 8 year old still stays on either our on neighbouring streets ( once he's asked/ told me where he's going), the 11 year old pretty much plays out where she likes in our and neighbouring villages, will sometimes get the bus into town with friends for a milkshake etc...

Yes my two (12 and 10) occasionally go to the park with friends, usually for about a couple of hours at a time. No big roads to cross though.

I would let my 9yo play out with a similar age companion. My 7yo isn't quite there yet and most of the children in the immediate vincinity are 7 and younger.

Maybe next year...

No but shes only 3. In a few years I probably would let her. There are a lot of kids on our street and if all the parents keep half an eye on them they would be fine. We were lucky to live in a terrace of houses around a green. they would have to go out of their way to be near a road and even then it's a quiet residential one. If we lived directly on a road or near a busy one I'm sure I would feel different about it.
