How much help with homework do you give your 11/12 yr old?

Differing opinions going on in this house!

When mine started school, the only help I ever gave was asked for help. And I usually only told where to find the info (eg Google) Or is it in the text?, or wrote out the method used to calculate the first sum.
If asked to check something, I might ask the teacher type question to cover the missing bits: 'why do you think that'? Or 'have you explained how you did that?' 'Have ou considered (another point)? Or if it's too short 'I think you might need to expand on this or that section' Or too long etc. But I'd never do the homework like some parents seemed to (esp at primary)

Absolutely no point in parents doing homework.

None, i can't even work it out myself 🤣, she just gets on with it thankfully and if she really needs help than she asks her dad!

She asks if she needs help, which isn't often. TBH Alexa is more help than me, I think DD now asks Alexa first and me as a last resort! Especially for languages and spelling.

Zero. I've been asked for help about 5 times if that, she's 13.

If she needed help I would most certainly give it but we've never had to monitor homework so far.

As much as they ask for, and I’ll check over their work once it is finished to make sure it’s sufficient standard and so I can judge their level.

If the level is particularly high or low then I might provide additional support even if they done explicitly ask for it.

DS1 has some difficulty with organisation, so I will make sure to prompt him to check for work to be done.
