Perfumes for girls

It's my daughters 11th birthday coming up and she's really into perfume, always spraying mine, which I try to discourage as it's really expensive 😂. Last year I got her a small bottle of Ted Baker Mia and I'm looking for some suggestions for this year.

I don't want to pay fine perfume prices, as money is tight this year and I'd like to get her a few bits rather than spend a massive chunk of the bday budget on perfume. I was thinking Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden, but I remember that not being very long lasting and also very summery. Any suggestions? I'd like to keep around the £20-£25 mark max really. I saw Vera Wang Princess advertised as good for this age group. Has anyone smelt this one?

My daughter loved VW Princess and it has a lovely bottle for display so I would say that’s a great choice. The Mark Jacobs Daisy perfumes also went down very well.

Zara does some good value perfumes

marigoldsmarigolds · 12/09/2020 08:44

Ditto Zara. Lovely reasonably priced perfumes.

I’ve seen this in Next www.next.co.uk/style/st221976/957672#957672
And they do larger bottles of individual ones too www.next.co.uk/style/st359846/517855#517855

You can also get perfume making kits www.argos.co.uk/product/8259846

Great! Thank you for all the suggestions. I'd forgotten about Zara, they really do do well-priced perfumes.

I love VW princess.
Worry it throughout my early 30s.
There's also some flankers which tend to even cheaper..there's 'Rock princess' and 'Preppy princess' both nice and you could decide which is more to your dd's personality.

Crystal87 · 12/09/2020 09:34

How about the Ghost range? There are some nice ones and they are affordable.

Spied · 12/09/2020 09:35

Wore not worry

emsyj37 · 12/09/2020 09:37

I came on to suggest Vera Wang Princess! DD is 10 and has this one. It's nice enough that I steal the occasional spray too.
She also has Tommy Girl which is very cheap on Fragrance Direct. I don't love it but it's young and fresh and good value.
Also worth checking out Jenny Glow for some amazing dupes. www.makesscents.ie

My 13 year old dd likes the Britney Spears and Beyonce perfumes. They are around £15 for a big 100ml bottle but smell really nice.

emsyj37 · 12/09/2020 09:39

oh PS I liked Princess so much that I ordered Rock Princess too, and hated it! It smells very different from the original. My 7 yo DD has it now and likes it but my 10 yo wasn't keen and I think it's horrible. I might try Flower Princess at some point tho.

Mrsjayy · 12/09/2020 09:40

Ghost girl is very girly not too heavy dd had it a few Christmases ago, she also loved Harajuku it is by Gwen Stafani but they are in cute bottles and comes in different fragrances

Mrsjayy · 12/09/2020 09:41

Katie perry's is also nice can't remember what it's called older dd was into that a few years back.

misskick · 12/09/2020 09:42

River island do some lovely perfumes for girls.

ScarlettDarling · 12/09/2020 09:45

My daughter and her friends love the Victoria's Secret body sprays.

Scoleah · 12/09/2020 09:45

My DD also loves the Britney Spears perfumes & they last all day!

IggyAce · 12/09/2020 09:45

My dd likes Ariana Grande’s sweet like candy.

Thuglife · 12/09/2020 10:01

@Iggyace
Snap! My Dd loves Ariana Grande Sweet like Candy. It’s sweet & powdery and definitely a young girls perfume. The set I bought for Dd even had a very cute pom pom headband included.
Primark has some nice dupe body sprays as well

expatinspain · 12/09/2020 10:38

Wow! Thank you for all the suggestions. I’ll have to get myself down to a department store and have a sniff of all of these. The Vera Wang one seems pretty popular.

I can’t do River Island, unfortunately, as they don’t have this in Spain and the shipping costs put the price up.

Vera Wang Princess is lovely, it's a really light scent but lasts a long time. The bottle is really lovely too!
