Ripon

Does anyone live in or near Ripon?

We are thinking of moving here from a different town in Yorkshire (think Tadcaster way).

What I want to know is:

Which areas are nice and which should we avoid? We’ve seen some nice houses on Whitcliffe Lane but weren’t sure on the area.

Is a commute to Leeds going to be awful? It wouldn’t be 5 days a week but could be 2/3.

Anything else we need to know? Have already researched the schools etc.

Brimham rocks, studley Royal
Light water valley gateway to nidderdale, skipton, grassington, pateley Bridge
Harrogate not far
Ripon, thirsk Northallerton
You’ve probably done all these places to death lo
Has a little but well stocked Thursday market
Some nice eateries
And pubs

I've got friends who live in a hamlet not far from there. They say it's a very close not community. It's a lovely town in a lovely area.
