Imposter syndrome. Interview for big job

I've got an interview for a big job - ceo. And having confidently decided I meet the criteria and applying, I have now been invited to interview and am having a crisis of ability.

Can I have tips from people who have been in this position. And also suggestions of interview questions I should prep for?

Please help!

Thanks very much. Yes I am very excited to join that company. In some ways completely bonkers but isn't everywhere basically. I think it will give me something to get my teeth stuck into and be rewarding.

@MrsSiba tell us a bit more about your interview?

Congratulations OP, nailed it!

I have a similarly big interview this week. But the enthusiasm has been knocked out of me a bit because I had a MASSIVE 2nd/3rd stage interview a few weeks back that I was so excited about, for an amazing company. I swotted like mad and prepared my 20 minute technical talk. I really wanted the job, it was terrifying (or so I thought) but perfect.

I got knocked back because I was "far more technically experienced than they had envisioned someone for that role at this early stage".

Not to mention I fluffed a couple of the competency questions, but that's by the by. Why did they interview me if I was overqualified, it was obvious from my CV?

So I don't know whether to get worked up about this one or not, I feel sort of disillusioned! I'm amongst 7 other candidates for 5 roles, one senior the others mid-range. I'm pitching for the senior one.

Well done OP! That's great news. I'm starting a new leadership role in a few weeks and got total imposter syndrome so useful tips in this thread for me!

@fartyface it's a bit further than I would like to travel but if nothing else it will be useful interview practice. I accepted voluntary redundancy after I returned from furlough a couple of weeks ago. All a bit sudden.
The firm is looking for someone to take over when the partner retires but it's a much smaller outfit than I am used to. I'm going with an open mind.
