And first trip into central London. I hope it goes well I like to treat myself to a couple of cheap tickets a year. I loved watching them on tv so I’m really excited, I don’t know what the theatre will be like bridgetheatre.co.uk/whats-on-talking-heads-live/

Enjoy!

I'm headed there myself during the week. Really looking forward to it.

Yes it was very good but strange. You had to
Keep masks on at all times and there was loads of room between seats.

What was the atmosphere like?

We are off to the Palladium for Songs for a New World & Southwark Playhouse for Songs for a New World in October

How on earth will theatres and actors make money with a sparse audience like that?

Comefromaway · 11/09/2020 22:00

At the moment most of the shows being planned are small cast, minimal set, low cost productions. Larger scale ones are not financially viable.

It was brilliant Kirsten Scott Thomas and Rochenda Sandall and of course I spent half of it wondering if I’d seen her in a police uniform in something. Smile it was a good night but couldn’t just walk into a pub for a drink it all had to be booked.

God that's depressing. Theatres are fucked.

HepzibahGreen · 11/09/2020 22:17

And so are touring companies. So many jobs.

I e been to the cinema three times since they reopened.

Each time there have been five or fewer people. Nobody in the foyer. I think it may fold too.

We saw Dear Evan Hansen in a packed theatre on 18th March Saturday before lockdown. Days before the theatres shut. It was packed. Loved it as did our teens. So sad that seems like another lifetime. So so glad we went to so many shows and theatre while we could
