What's you favourite beige meal?

I usually cook from scratch everyday and have spare meals in the freezer, but today I took a notion to buy convenience food and bought chicken bites, waffles and beans. Oh.my.god....it was amazing! I haven't eaten something like that in years and I can't believe what I have missed. There was something so comforting about the waffles in particular, I was getting throwbacks to the advert I used to hear on TV as a child.

Please hit me up with inspiration for my next one.

Deffo has to be potato waffles with cheap Richmond sausages and fried onions. Heart attack on a plate but my god sooo good

Some brilliant memories of my student days being prompted by this thread! Super noodles, yes the chicken or bacon ones! I used to have the lidl cheapo pasta n sauce too, with a whole tin of peas in it Grin and jacket potato, beans and cheese is the food of gods and if I had to choose one meal to live on for the rest of my life that would be it!

Somebody mentioned macaroni cheese (not tinned)... before my body decided it didn't like gluten I LOVED tinned macaroni cheese - not the expensive heinz one, and not the value range, but any mid-range one would do! Grin I make or buy good gluten free macaroni cheese now but they're never as good as a good nasty tin of macaroni cheese, with the first spoonful out of the tin cold, and the rest hot with extra cheese and tomato sauce squirted on but not mixed in Grin I also used to love tinned spaghetti strands with grated cheese melting into it!

The mention of orange melt cheese slices (i call them plastic cheese) reminds me fondly of a time when I would make a sandwich with two slices and peanut butter (white crusty bread) and microwave it. Soggy, oozy goodness Grin

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 11/09/2020 22:16

It used to be Bernard Matthews Hamwiches before they changed them. They’re fucking horrible now. They used to have a big layer of cheesy goodness now they’re “bits” of cheese mixed into the “meat” and it might as well not even be there.

So probably Turkey Drummers, Mash and Cheesy Beans. With some Mini Kieves on the side Grin

Wholemeal pasta drizzled with a bit of olive oil and cheese. Tied with cheese and crackers
Girlwhowearsglasses · 11/09/2020 22:23

Did nobody say chip butties yet?!?!?

SingingWaffleDoggy · 11/09/2020 22:24

Supernoodle sandwich. The noodles melt the butter and it tastes delicious

SomethingOnce · 11/09/2020 22:24

Chicken Kiev with potato dauphinoise.

Sorry, but I’m gonna need a green salad to go with the beige.

Canklesforankles · 11/09/2020 22:35

Not beige but Heinz Tomato Soup with a cheese sandwich. Grin

Gingerkittykat · 11/09/2020 22:35

Another vote for scampi, a whole packet without accompaniments.

Tins of beans and sausages, either on toast or on a baked potato smothered with melted cheese.

Mrsdoubtfireswig · 11/09/2020 22:39

Popcorn chicken / chicken dippers or Aldi’s spicy chicken bites

Fish finger butty and skin on fries

Veg finger (Asda’s own) butty

Birdseye southern fried chicken fillet as a burger with cheese in a bun or with spicy fries or skin on fries and beans

Sausage rolls... Grin

Msfoxy17 · 11/09/2020 22:43

Sometimes these kind if meals are so satisfying!
I'll give for fish fingers, chips and onions rings!
Not a pea in sight as I hate them but bit of broccoli would be ok.
(Dont ever look at the 'nutritional value ' of onion rings!)

WinWinnieTheWay · 11/09/2020 22:43

The kids love super noodles as their crappy meals.

I love the vegetarian cauliflower grills with jacket potatoes and salad.

My husband loves Linda McCartney Country Pies and frozen fries.

Sevo7 · 11/09/2020 22:58

Potato waffle, slice of plastic cheese and coleslaw on top, tastes amazing.

Also a bag of scampi to myself with salad cream to dip them in.

HotPatootiebootie · 11/09/2020 23:01

When I need to do a huge freezer shop we often have a day or two of what we like to call " yummy crummy". It's varies by month but is basically a roulette game of half bag of nuggets, 8 stray garlic bread slices, 4 waffles, 3 hash browns, a Kiev, 6 hamwhiches, a tray of faggots that nobody remembers buying, a bag of Lidl pierogi's, 2 burgers, 4 sausages of unknown flavour, 4 almost empty bags with 1-3 roast spuds in and 5 fish fingers. We cook it off then take turns to pick what we want. The loser is the one that gets the faggots and they have to wash up Grin

Xmasbaby11 · 11/09/2020 23:03

Eggs beans and potato waffles! Maybe with some sausages too.

Egghead68 · 11/09/2020 23:43

M&S Cauliflower popcorn

Neeks888 · 15/01/2021 17:18

Cheese tomato pizza curly fries with ketchup and mayo Grin

laughoutquiet · 15/01/2021 17:24

Chicken Kiev cooked on a slice of white bread to soak up any excess, with chips and peas.

minipie · 15/01/2021 17:34

Plain pasta (ideally egg pasta) with butter and salt.

Chips n cheese.

Fresh proper white bread and unsalted butter. I could go through a loaf.

Supernoodles.

peaceanddove · 15/01/2021 18:13

DD did proper jacket potatoes last night. Oven baked, with the skins rubbed with a bit of oil and salt. Then lashings of garlic butter + stilton. Amazing.

TronaldDrump · 15/01/2021 19:32

Part baked baguette, warm, with lurpak. Nothing else. Oh my god. So good.
(and a green pot noodle is always a good beige choice! nightshift staple)

Marcipex · 15/01/2021 19:35

Toast, butter and marmite.
