How do I keep getting the same lady on customer service helplines?

At different companies? She has a very squeaky, almost babyish voice with a sort of Canadian accent but not quite. Like a kindergarten teacher with Canadian English as a second language. Shes very polite and friendly, never gets annoyed but can be very hard to understand. She works for Asda, HSBC, Next, Sky and many more I've probably forgotten.

Are call centres using voice coaches or some sort of software to change the voice? I've never met anyone in real life with that accent but they all seem to be at the end of the phone.

Some companies outsource their call centres to call centre companies.
People at these places are trained in procedures for a number of customers.
Calls get routed through to an appropriately trained call handler.
It flashes up on their screen which company the person thinks they have called and they answer as if they are that company.
(Relative used to work for one)

Don't suppose that is happening for you though, too much of a coincidence.

A lot of people in overseas call centres have been taught by people or resources with an American accent. Possible you're talking to someone e.g. in the Philippines or India.

Have always got local people (Welsh?) for Sky though. Are you ringing at odd hours?

I have to speak to lenders (banks) quite frequently in my job and whenever I need to escalate someone it’s always a Glaswegian lady. When I hear her dulcet tones I know my issue will get sorted Grin

I had someone form my bank yesterday with the most gorgeous soft Irish accent. In my head it was Aidan Turner. I was quite disappointed when he resolved my issue in about thirty seconds - I could have talked to him all day Grin
