What laundry detergent & fabric conditioner do you use?

...just that really. I’m currently using the Bold lavender liquid & the Fairy - snuggly soft fabric conditioner. I do love a fabric conditioner.

@Yubaba

I use Persil non bio for colours, persil bio for whites and no fabric softeners because I don’t like the way they make my clothes feel.
There is no difference between bio and non bio with respect to how they affect colours unless one is a powder and the other is liquid as powders contain bleaches and liquids dont.

Ecover.

I only use fabric conditioner about once a year when I wear a particular nylon dress (it's lovely, honest!). Since I stopped using softener, I haven't noticed a difference other than in towels which are pleasantly rougher and more absorbent. Saves me a fortune and is more eco friendly.

Daz powder and fairy softener.

I occasionally use bold liquid tabs 3in1 and they smell amazing just so expensive

Persil non bio or the Tesco non bio liquid with one of 3 Comfort softeners-- blue, white or strawberry. Allergic to Fairy and Bold.

Smol

GuyFawkesDay · 10/09/2020 22:20

Bold lavender. Waitrose pure conditioner. Smells fab.

Noshowlomo · 10/09/2020 22:21

Any lavender two in one tabs and ruby jasmine- it’s the nicest smell ever. I like to double up on the softness!

olderthanyouthink · 10/09/2020 22:21

@Wolfiefan put the powder in the drum. I got some Sainsbury's own brand powder that gets stuck in the drawer when our usual doesn't.

I use Ariel powder and liquid and comfort pure. Hate how crunchy and rough everything is without softener.

CarolVordermansArse · 10/09/2020 22:24

Depending on what I am washing:
Surf lavender powder or liquid for general bedding and shirts etc.
Waitrose sensitive (unperfumed) for anything of mine including towels.
Lidl lavender powder, non bio for stuff that needs non bio or if I run out of Surf.
Also have an unperfumed non bio which is really weird and makes everything so hard it stands up without help but can't remember what it is.

I don't use conditioner as it contains some awful stuff but do have some unperfumed as it is useful to stretch stuff that shrinks, or on socks that need softening.

No added smelly stuff. No pre-measured pods, capsules or weird things. I use less than recommended with powder and liquid and it lasts for ages. And I will also run washes with no detergent and watch how much sudsy build up appears in the machine because machines no longer rinse it out properly.

Nenuco laundry liquid and softener.
It's amazing. Get it from the market. X

copperoliver · 10/09/2020 22:32

I use smol too. X

doadeer · 10/09/2020 22:34

I used the gold lenor fabric conditioner it smells lush. I love it

latheritup · 10/09/2020 22:41

Smol for me too Smile

Sakura7 · 10/09/2020 22:45

Fabric conditioner is definitely not a non-product if you have very hard water. My clothes and towels are horrible without it.

CarolVordermansArse · 10/09/2020 22:46

Liquids do contain bleaches, the label will say optical brighteners if there is bleach in a detergent, regardless of liquid or powder. Bio removes more smells and stains if you are lucky, than non bio.

I thin I might find it odd to wash my clothes in something called Colon Grin.
yikesanotherbooboo · 10/09/2020 22:49

Lidl powder, green for whites and purple for colours.
No fabric conditioner.
I use vanish or antibacterial washing up liquid for soaking if needed.
At our weekend house we have a septic tank so I err on the side of caution and use ecover !

CarolVordermansArse · 10/09/2020 22:50

think

Dogsgowoofwoof · 10/09/2020 22:50

I use the aldi ones and have never used fabric conditioner.

FrankiesKnuckle · 10/09/2020 22:51

Smol. Not tried their fabric conditioner though, I use own brand sensitive.

dementedpixie · 10/09/2020 22:51

Liquids contain optical brighteners but they arent bleaches. Bleaches arent stable in liquid formulations. Bleaches remove colour. Optical brighteners use the process of fluorescence to trick your eyes into believing your clothes are whiter and brighter than they actually are.

EugenesAxe · 10/09/2020 22:52

Whatever concentrated colour bio liquid is on offer, or own-brand colour bio liquid.

Conditioner I use hippie stuff that I get from an eco-refill shop. I think it might be the pink flavour of Ecover.

LookToTreblesGoingTreblesGone · 10/09/2020 22:52

Splosh 😊

espressoontap · 10/09/2020 22:56

Fairy non-bio tabs, did use Aldi version but I react to it. Sensitive softener.
