How do I save a WhatsApp series of messages?

Technophobe

There is a conversation I want to keep that I may have to use in the future to back something up. I don't want to keep it active in my WhatsApp as my DC use my phone and read my messages.

How can I save the long set of messages between me and someone else and store it or print it off?

Sorry, I know this is really archaic. See username!

What phone do you use? You could take a screenshot of it?

GirlCalledJames · 10/09/2020 14:49

You can export it and save it. It’s with the rest of the options.

GinGinHooray · 10/09/2020 14:49

I would screenshot the conversation and then email it to yourself - so you have the conversation saved on email.

On an iPhone, you can slide the chat right to left, which brings up a menu that says More.

If you click export chat, that will give the option to print etc.

Screenshot on your phone or copy & paste or connect to whatsapp on laptop or computer and copy from there. web.whatsapp.com/

If you archive it, it won’t delete but also won’t show on your active chats.
I can’t imagine ever clicking on my dads WhatsApp let alone reading his messages!!

My DC are still smallish. They play on my phone and nose at my messages. This message is about one of them so don't want them to see it.

You could archive it but it won't keep them out altogether.

Can you change your phone settings so you have a safe mode for them to play on?

Palavah · 10/09/2020 15:56

Or enable fingerprint to access whatsapp?

WorriedDaughter1 · 10/09/2020 16:00

You can export the chat and email it to yourself.

Yes enable the pin/face recognition for WhatsApp and archive the messages too
