How did you make lockdown birthdays special?

So far the only lockdown birthday we've had was mine, and I was very happy with a stack of new books and a takeaway, like every year Smile.

DC2 is turning 10 in a month, and we always have a party, whether big, or just half a dozen to the house. That's off the cards this year as we are in an area of enhanced measures or whatever the jargon is, so no visitors at all to any private house or garden, and meals out etc limited to one household. I've promised her an Unbirthday Party as soon as possible (Easter, I'm guessing) but just wondered if there's anything you've done to make lockdown birthdays special?

DD was 14 in lockdown. We did an online escape room with a couple of her friends via Zoom (We variously posted and delivered instructions, party bags and party food to the online guests), got her a pandemic worst birthday ever T-shirt, treasure hunt round the house for presents (do this every year) and stuck a birthday candle in a takeaway pizza. It was great fun

For my ten year old daughters birthday in may we hired a bouncy castle and she Was desperate for a piñata so we got her one of those! I did a treasure hunt for presents too and had a birthday cake! It was a lovely day!!

We had a little bonfire outside. We got the fire pit. going, roasted marshmallows, hot chocolate, sausages, blankets and set a tent up the kids could sit in with cosy blankets. It was lovely actually.

In the morning we did a pancake station and decorated the table with balloons ect.. full on party table with cake. Then zoomed friends and family whilst she was sat in the ‘birthday chair’ ( helium balloons tied on to it [grin)
