Paignton/Brixham

Thinking of moving to the Paignton/Brixham area and wondered if anyone has any advice about the area. We used to visit Paignton a few years ago for days out and really liked it but obviously it's different if you live there.

It's just me and DH so not concerned about schools, just the general area, shops, restaurants, green spaces etc.

Paignton is, erm, very seasidey! Lots of amusement arcades and the like - the older part of town is nice though and you will get a cheaper deal with houses than in Brixham, I suspect. And Paignton is very near lovely, hippy, alternative Totnes.

Not lived there but visited. Nice place. We were there one early summer -not high season- and the weekend traffic was HORRENDOUS. We were told it’s like that all of August. That would put me off.

Craftycorvid I love Totnes but it's a bit too pricey I'm afraid.

I have a friend in Brixham. I'd like to move there.
