Is there a way of listening to books that's not using audible or do they have a monopoly on the market?

Borrowbox app is fairly good but think your library needs to be on the scheme so you can ”borrow” the audiobook from them.

I think you can get audiobooks on itunes and they have been a bit cheaoer.

Thanks all
I'll check my library options, I've listened to the ones I fancy on BBC sounds but thanks for the reminder.
I don't have apple products so iTunes is not going to work I think :-).

Our library has subscriptions to BorrowBox and RBDigital. Download the app and then log in with your library card number. There is a waiting list for some popular titles (due to number of licenses) but plenty to choose from. E-books can also be borrowed this way, handy with library’s restricted opening times.

Hi
I've just downloaded borrow box and my library is a member. I don't like reading e books but the option on audio books is great for work.
Thanks all
