Night Owls why are you awake?

My asthmatic cat woke me having a coughing fit on the landing. Once awake, its usually 2 hours before I'm sleepy. A while to go...

@Frownette just wondering how you can know someone for so long and share so much and they can step out of your life into another one without even thinking about it. My counsellor said it's the I closed loops that use our energy.

@Eloisedublin123

I went to the beach this afternoon and my old dog was chewing seaweed. She’s still v thirsty and woke me up for another pee!
When you need to go you need to go; I was far too polite and British about it the other day as I was on the phone to friend and started feeling urgency. Whereas instead of politely saying "I need the loo" and throwing aside my phone and making a mad dash for it I was trying to jiggle my knees.

Sort of worked out ok as by the time I got into the bathroom I went next to the toilet fiddling with buttons so easy to clear up on a tiled floor.

Dogs have no sort of conundrums!

I had a totally unexpected medical emergency on Friday. I have no memory of it or anything else until yesterday afternoon. I only know what family have told me and they all thought I had died. I was discharged from hospital this morning and I can't sleep. This has a massive impact on my future, so a lot to think about.

InsaneInTheViralMembrane · 10/09/2020 05:19

@Frownette Well that's me hooked in to Barbara Dickson on YouTube! Grin

I'm up early because my kids physically fight and scream unless I'm upstairs when they go to bed "supervising". Which means I have enforced early bed... wouldn't mind so much if I weren't to be imminently joined.

Shift work, it's nearly my lunchtime!

BraveGoldie · 10/09/2020 05:22

Had an annoying business meeting last night with a bossy woman- has been going round in my head and has me all riled up!

Because DH is working an early shift and he woke the baby so now I am trying to get him back to sleep. It's not working.

Happylittlethoughts · 10/09/2020 05:27

Other people take up too much of our headspace don't they? I have tried to snuggle down but an issue with a woman I work with keeps popping into my head.... it was a February incident! February 🙈

I'm only 38 and started waking a lot of night in a sweat. Lots of nights I wake up around 4 and can't get back to sleep so I just get up. I don't know what is going on, so Ive had bloods done. I like being up early when I feel ok and that happens sometimes, but when I'm totally exhausted and it has an effect on the rest of the day then it really is frustrating. Going to get my second coffee soon!

Happylittlethoughts · 10/09/2020 05:34

My DP fell asleep on sofa so can't get downstairs for tea ... now my stomach has also woken up and is sending emergency starvation signals

The early hours are the worst for thinking the wrong kind of thoughts! Like PPs mine are either about my ex and how much I miss him. Or wondering if running away or dying would be better Hmm

It is extremely strange; but we always have to leave each other in the end, as horrible as it is.

I think what you're trying to say is how can a love and shared life burn out. It is actually really painful letting go but you are your own person and you will find your new reality.

sparklebumfluffybutt · 10/09/2020 05:39

I haven't fallen asleep yet and I'm worried about work - and may have to cancel a really important meeting today cos I won't be able to function. One DC is all snotty and keeps waking up and the other is such a bad sleeper they have just started on sleep medication and now they are both in my bed while DH is snoring in the other room. I have just had to take painkillers cos my face is aching for some stupid reason and I'm extra pissed off because I thought tonight was the night I would actually get a decent night's kip! Feeling quite sorry for myself 😭

fantasmasgoria1 · 10/09/2020 05:42

I have chronic pain which keeps me awake and if I fall asleep it wakes me up.

sunshineandshowers21 · 10/09/2020 05:43

i’m awake because something strange happened and now i’m scared to sleep! i was in the spare bed trying to fall asleep after feeding the baby, and i had my back to the door. and all of a sudden i just felt a sensation that someone was behind me, and then i swear i felt something settle on the bed beside me. i shot up out the bed and went back to my bedroom with my boyfriend and now i’m hiding under the duvet. i know it was probably just because i’m overly tired but christ it’s scared me!

Frownette · 10/09/2020 05:45

@InsaneInTheViralMembrane

I won’t be going back to sleep. Once I’m awake that’s that.
Ain't that the troof - breakfast shortly. I only work part time and no children so I can trot off and do an omelette and muffin and coffee.

Menopause. And a job that is so stressful atm that I am literally scared to go in today.

I'd offer to do It for you if we can swap over hair Grin

Remember that feeling, as soon as you get there you'll be able to relax. And perhaps feel proud you can get through so much.

Happylittlethoughts · 10/09/2020 07:04

I hope you all get through today. May solutions to our troubles be closer than we think x

I slept for a couple of hours.

Then woke up, had a storming row with husband and I'm now so tired I feel sick
