Glasses and Face Coverings

I'm having awful trouble with my glasses fogging up when wearing a face mask. Any recommendations? I don't mind paying a bit if it means I can see!

Have you tried a visor instead?

The only thing that allows me to go a few minutes without steaming are disposable masks. Pulled high. Wire bended tightly. Even then it'snot ideal.

Also noticed that different glasses give a different level of fog. I have a very small face, which I'm sure doesn't help somehow

I've used my DH"s anti-fog spray (that he has for his crash helmet visor) which has helped. I'm going to give toothpaste a try...sounds mad but is shown to significantly reduce fogging of interior car windows..a.light covering, then polish/buff. I will report back!

As a nurse who wears masks all day, my advise is to get a really toght seal at the top of the mask. Either really focus on bending thr hmnkse wire yo fit you perfectly, or use medical tape to tape the top of the mask to your face.

A visor is not going to protect you from much - thry are only to protect against fluid droplets entering your eyes which is not an issue for most members of the public.

Do you reckon adjustable string on the masks is better than a fixed elastic loop? I've got small ears and they ping off!

My only solution has been to use a bit of folded microporous medical tape to secure the face covering to the bridge of my nose. It’s hidden under the mask but keeps it secure and having the tape keeping it flush to the face, your breath doesn’t go out the top to fog your glasses. It works every time. I was really struggling before!

I've not had a problem with my home made masks. They have a bendy nose strip at the top that seems to do the trick. They did fog up when I sneezed earlier but not through normal breathing.

I ordered the nose strips from Amazon.

As stupid as it sounds I’ve had massive problems fogging up but only when I’ve put my mask on after my glasses. I wear them all the time so was putting it on just before going in the shop. If you pull it up so the bridge of your glasses is sitting on top of the mask on your nose it should be better.

Do NOT, and I cannot emphasise this enough....NOT toothpaste your specs...it's abrasive.

I've managed to finally sort mine to not fog up but it's taken a while to find the perfect solution for me! Having my mask fairly high , really tight seal I got one with a really firm bendable pipe cleaner type thing in, and little foam pads that sit along the nose strip part of the top of the mask.

I've also found that I fog less if I breathe through my nose (as well as the mask being pulled up high.
