HELP tooth fairy situation

Dc2 lost their first tooth and we are sorted with the coin and it's all v.exciting etc.

except on the way to bed DC1 helpfully told DC2 that they got a toy with their first coin for their very first tooth.

DH and I forgot this. We have literally nothing stashed yet (usually I'd have started Xmas shop by now).

A letter from the tooth fairy blaming Covid-19 for the delay and the toy is on its way?!

The toy shops in tooth fairy land are still on lockdown so a note under the pillow explaining it'll have to be an IOU might work

Emergency trip to Tesco?

I can't go to the supermarket as it's a drive away and dh and I shared wine with dinner

We do a fiver for the first tooth and £2 thereafter.

Great until you realise it's 10pm, all the shops are shut and you forgot to get some cash for it.

I changed a friend's name to "The Tooth Fairy" on my phone and she sent a text for DS. There was also a Paypal payment with the promise the tooth will be collected when things are "Covid clear". It worked a treat!

I wouldn't care I was ever so smug today "dh, can you get some coins in your change on the way home?"
