Skateboard advice / information / recommendations

DD (8) would like a skateboard. I looked on Amazon and really have no idea how to choose one. Please, if you know anything about skateboards, could you give me some advice. I don't want to spend a fortune because she has never used one before and I'm not sure it's an interest that will stick.

The wheels make a huge difference.

Don't get one from amazon. The Skate Hut are good.

We got a fully assembled full size board for 9yo dd1 recently which she loves.

Get knee, elbow and wrist pads.

DH (who knows his stuff) just helped get one for my 14yo niece. He recommended going to a proper shop and getting it assembled. Looking at the Skate Hut they do do that sort of stuff.
