Tuition Via Skype - Does it Work?

Yesterday, I contacted a tutor and was informed they are only offering sessions via Skype (for 12 year old dc, for a certain subject). This is in accordance with recent events - covid.

My preference would be for face to face tuition but understandably, this may be difficult to find at the moment. Interested to hear from any parents who are currently receiving tuition for their dc in this way.

Anyone?

DD has had her English tuition via zoom since March (with her pre-existing face to face tutor).
It has worked fine on the whole.

We bought a document camera and our end is focussed on that.
The tutor has himself or shows his screen.
He sometimes sends texts over for us to print out in advance.

Ds2 has maths and science tutoring via Zoom and it's fine.

Thanks Teenplus I'm not great with I.T. so naturally sceptical.

I would rather someone was sat with dc, though I understand the concerns about covid.

My daughter is starting zoom tuition next Weds for a gcse subject - I think it will work ok, but will give it a few weeks and then review how it is going.
