Balance Bike and Buggy- Help!

I'm looking for some good tips on how to carry a balance bike on a buggy.

DS has just turned 2 and loves his balance bike; but we need to walk down busy streets before we get anywhere I'd trust him to ride it! I have back problems and there's no way I can carry DS, a bag and his bike and he's still at a stage where there's no guarantee he's actually going to walk anywhere- so we need a pushchair just in case!

We do have a carry strap for the balance bike, as well as buggy clips, but despite way too long trying I can't figure out any way to attach it without it just being slung over the back of the buggy, making it twice as wide as it should be and rudely forcing strangers off pavements when we try to walk anywhere.

Any tips from anyone who has solved this would be appreciated!

I've always just put it across the back of the buggy - it doesn't make it that much wider.

I just turn it upside down and rest the handles of the bike between the handles of the pushchair

DH could tie DD4's balance bike to the side of her pram so that it wheeled along next to the pram. I could never manage it without the bike falling.

I've seen a few other people do it at the park as well
