Clutterbuck. I saw it in one of the Mog books and then during the same week, I bought a book from a charity shop and someone had written in the front " this book belongs to Jane Clutterbuck".
I thought it was so strange.

There's a takeaway round here, run by Anu, which is fine. I'm not sure it was entirely wise to call it Anu's Kitchen, especially as the apostrophe wasn't prominent on the flyers which came round.

I've thought of another one.

I once worked with a wonderful woman whose surname was E.

It was a super pain for her with any online form as most wouldn't accept any name less than 3 letters.

We have an unusual surname, about 3000 in th country so not as rare as some PPs. I'm unique, as are DD1 and my DN. DD2 shares her name with an elderly woman.

About 10 years ago, DHs professional title combined with the surname was the same as a 70s rock band. He gained a bit of notoriety on the radio... And on a professional court experience the Judge thought he was having him on.

People think it's a joke regularly.

MyDogSmells · 09/09/2020 11:57

Mine is fairly unusual and almost always gets remarked on (although not as funny as some on this thread).

It's actually really useful having an unusual name, people are more likely to remember you.
