PGL holidays?

Has anyone been on a pgl holiday? We are a family of 3 with one 7 yr old dc. Would love to get away and we’re quite outdoorsy, but don’t fancy camping in the October half term.

Would love to hear from anyone who has been on holiday with them. What are the activities like? And is the atmosphere relaxed or quite schooly? Is the food any good? And the accommodation?!?! Seems so reasonably priced, there must be a major catch

We're looking at PGL too. I'm not sure I'm ready to do a full week, but seriously considering a few nights.

We did 4 nights in the summer, and it is an absolute bargain at the moment! The accommodation and food is quite basic but adequate. Activities were amazing, our 9 year old had the best time. I found it very easy as everything’s planned and organised for you so no thinking needed at all. Seriously considering going again in half term!

Good to hear @dancingqueen2018 ! Can I ask - can you skip an activity if you want? Or do you have to do everything?

Have a look at HF Holidays. Specifically Family Walking weeks.
We loved taking our DC on these.
The brochure doesn't do them justice. If you are tempted and want more information feel free to PM

HF holidays look great! But also extremely pricey ...

Yes, not the cheapest but kids are always free on Family weeks so it's even better if you have more than one DC, which doesn't apply to you at the moment and there is almost nothing to think about, they even make your packed lunch.

Mine are too old now but they always made friends. We have always really enjoyed the holidays and the hotels are only open to the families on the walking holiday so nice and safe. They usually employ and activity leader who puts on games and crafts etc after the walks have finished and after dinner there will be things like treasure hunts,

We got more out of these holidays than PGL as we were together and the DC had freedom around the hotel
