Anyone else want to keep me company while I sew these little buggers on at the moment? Just the last thousand to go...zzzzzz

I saw a video of a woman who used her hair straightners to attach label to tag on the inside of items.. Genius.

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 15:56

Was that for the iron on ones? We have to see ours —evil fuckers—

I quite like sewing in a name tape.

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 16:02

Can you do mine?!
About a million of the fuckers... making me grumpy!

A name tape would be enjoyable. I have them in evil numbers

I did that for my eldest's nursery clothes.. then the first jumper went missing.. then jumpers turned up in lost property, with the tags obviously cut out.....

From that day everything was labelled, in permanent pen, across the inside (of a bit where it wouldn't show through). Normal careless child losses and returns from that point on.

Buy a stamper. I recommend stamptastic.

AriettyHomily · 07/09/2020 16:12

Sharpie.

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 16:32

School wants us to have sew in tags. Otherwise it would definitely be a sharpie!

Stickers! www.mynametags.ie They stick to everything and are washing machine and dishwasher safe. My kids have them on uniform, shoes, pencilcases, pencils, lunchboxes, drinks bottles - pretty much everything. And not one has ever come off. I've never sewn a label on in my life!

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 16:35

Sadly the school wants sew in name tags

Only 20 more to go...

OhYeahYouSuck · 07/09/2020 16:56

The school could go whistle as far as I would be concerned! I'd do iron on ones and that's it (which is what I do). They can't force you to have sew in ones!

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 16:58

If only!

I've spent a fortune on having name labels sewn in over the years, but I figure my time is worth more than the £1 a label my local sewshop charges.

BeenAndCameBack · 07/09/2020 22:13

Yes yes! Me too - it costs a fortune to get the uniform shop to do it. They did the main uniform free of charge but have to do all the small stuff myself. Think I’ve done the bulk of it now... will do last few over glass of wine

mumprocrastinating · 08/09/2020 05:37

I see them in with Netflix on & a glass of wine. Quite satisfying really.
