If so, how long did it take to come please? Thanks!

Ours took 3 weeks and arrived a fortnight ago. Ordered online, and not a straightforward case either. The post office check and send service guarantees three weeks still apparently.

Another thread on this? Why has everyone forgotten to renew their kids passports?!

linerforlife · 07/09/2020 14:53

@dollypartonscoat FIRST passport. Not forgetting to renew! Yes OP, ours took under three weeks - arrived today

Ginfordinner · 07/09/2020 14:53

In my case because the passport office has discouraged renewals unless urgent.

Ah missed the first bit. The last two threads I've clicked on are for urgent passport issues Grin

Yes, did an application for one recently and it arrived after about 4 weeks

Hi just to update the thread. I applied for a child's first passport and an adult renewal. Once they received the documents, the child passport took 2 days to be approved and sent the next day. The adult passport took 1 day to be approved. I was expecting it to take a lot longer than that!

I've been really impressed with passport office lately.

DD needed one at the end of December. I put the application in on the Monday, posted old passport on the Monday morning and got new one in the post on the Thursday.

DS needed a renewal mid lockdown and even then it was only 2 and a bit weeks.

One of the few government services that seem to have improved!
