How will parents manage with winter bugs?

DS returned to nursery last week after 6 months at home with me. He was in 3 days and has since had a cough and runny nose (no temp and not unwell in himself). Although I’m sure it’s just a cold and not C19, I don’t feel like I can send him into nursery as they will likely just send him home. Thankfully I WFH at the moment so can keep him at home but it’s left me wondering how on earth will parents manage through winter and the usual winter bugs when they are being sent home from school/childcare for everything “just in case”? Surely parents can’t keep just having 14 days off.

Yes it will be hard, but we have little alternative.
You need to get DS a test as he has a cough. The more our testing capacity can increase and the quicker we can confirm, isolate and track Covid cases the quicker we can call carry on.
