Can anyone recommend me a new computer?

My old computer is kaput, and as it seems increasingly likely I'm going to be working at home unexpectedly, I need a new one. But I know nothing about tech ...

I need it to:

  1. Run Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc. - but I assume this is fairly basic?)
  2. Be able to run Microsoft Teams
  3. Most importantly, be able to teach remote lessons through Teams - so sufficient capacity to hold a meeting containing up to 30 people.

I don't game, so don't need it to be clever in that way, though it would be good if it could stream Netflix/Prime etc.

Can anyone make a recommendation? As you can doubtless see from my description of what I need, I am entirely clueless!

When you say computer, do you want a desktop or a laptop? What kind of budget?

Oh! I knew I'd left something out! Laptop, please. Budget is flexible, but we are crippled by nursery fees, so hoping for something not too expensive?

What is the most you can spend?

Microsoft Teams is great but uses a lot of RAM, I’d say you need at least 8GB of RAM to run teams without having to close everything else you have open in the background

This is my initial thought, it’s 15.6 so a reasonable screen size

Oh thank you! I was hoping to keep it under £600 (which that one is!) but,as I say, didn't know if that was possible. Any other recommendations?
