If you were going to Venice, where would you stay?

I am bewildered by the choice of amazing looking hotels with amazing views (though appreciate individual rooms may not share those views).

If you’ve been to Venice or are planning to go, where would you stay?

@Aridane I just tried again to change it and it come up again that I had to pay £187.

It says the charge for changing is £140 which is the same as the flight booked for next week cost.

I don't understand how they can be saying you can change flights for no cost which is is totally untrue.

I do think Ryanair are fine until it comes to trying to change anything. A friend somehow put her name in wrong and had to pay to correct it. I can't remember now exactly what she had to pay but it was quite a lot of money

I've stayed by the Rialto before just for 2 nights at hotel Marconi and it is an amazing location. One night we had a room not big enough to swing a cat in but next night they moved us to a big room with a view of the grand canal and rialto. Only trouble with that room it was so nice didn't want to leave it, just stayed and watched the canal all day. Must be amazing there not busy.

I love Murano, Burano and Torcello (?) but only done them as day trips. We tend to stay on Venice Lido to avoid the crowds and as love getting the boat over. I like going round central Venice but it does get crowded round the very central part. It wasn't too bad when we've been out of peak season but still busy.

Not sure if that question is for me but if so we were due to go tomorrow morning

Yes, it was. I was wondering whether RyanAir has a cut off time for changing flights, that’s all. I am so sorry that the Italy change of rules has frustrated your trip to Venice at this unique time

Have looked at RyanAir’s T&Cs - the free changes does not apply for flights within 7 days

@lynsey91n- although of small comfort, you CAN get the government tax back you paid

Oh well that explains it then. I tried to phone them but could not get through so I sent them an email. I just wanted an explanation but obviously that is why.

I have just applied for the refund of tax so thanks for that.

I am sad that we can't go but I guess it is just one of those things. So many people had holidays booked this year which they could not go on and, obviously, quite a few paid a lot more than we did

Oh, @lynsey91 - I’m sorry you’re not getting your Venice trip. I hope you have another opportunity
