On my street it's mainly people going for a walk

OP posts:
itchyfinger · 05/09/2020 19:58

Regular, very obvious drug deals

TrippinFlippin · 05/09/2020 19:58

Delivery vans and children playing. The occasional loose farm animal. Fucking loads of Jehovah's witnesses and door sellers. About 30 cars a DAY hoping they could cut through.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 05/09/2020 20:00

Loads of runners, walkers and dog walkers. We live on a leafy residential street with wide pavements and plenty of shady trees so people like to exercise here.

All ages as we’re near a university campus but the houses are family-sized. It’s rather nice to see people out and about so much. They do gawp at the houses though and some take photos of the gardens when they’re looking nice. I suppose it’s a compliment.😄

foxessocks · 05/09/2020 20:00

Road rage. I live by a part of the road which kind of bottle necks and boy do people get angry if they think someone has pushed through, it amazes me just how worked up people get, there was a full on punch up the other day SadShock

Flymetothetoon · 05/09/2020 20:02

Speeding cars
Police Chases
Illegal off road motorcycle riders speeding on the road (with no helmets)
Speeding quads
Pony and traps - with the poor ponies being forced to canter on tarmac and being whipped by their dubious owners

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 05/09/2020 20:05

Oh, we do get a fair few ambulances with sirens rushing by as we’re near a hospital! It’s not all calm and leafy. I’m grateful to be close to one, though, esp. when my DH had an accident.

PontiacBandit · 05/09/2020 20:07

Lots of traffic, the occasional ambulance screaming past. Tractors and Lorries rumble too. Dog walkers and people walking to the shop.

yolio · 05/09/2020 20:09

I live in the land that time forgot. Live at the back of the house so miss anything that goes on out front mostly. Bliss.

Delbelleber · 05/09/2020 20:13

Shopping trolleys. Lollypop ladies. Cyclists. Police cars visiting. Dogs. Loads of cars.

GalOopNorth · 05/09/2020 20:19

Sheep

And sometimes cows

Once two pigs came up the road and into our garden Grin

lovelemoncurd · 05/09/2020 20:31

I live next to a musician so he sits outside playing his mandolin. Neighbours next to him trade Art Deco furniture so they are constantly in and out with nicnacs. The boy from next door to them scoots up and down the cul de sac. We have a sort of grassy area in front where the kids gather on a swing. The man on the other side of that is ocd so he picks twigs up outside his gate. Vans call and leave dropping parcels. Some Asian lads sit in their car in the eve to chat and probably escape parents. That's a snapshot.

tornadoalley · 05/09/2020 20:35

Mostly people going for walks with their dogs, and in one case with his cat.

People cutting their grass or washing cars.

Boring suburbia

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 05/09/2020 20:47

@Ffsnosexallowed

The odd dog walker, neighbours off for a walk, delivery vans. An elderly Asian gent started regularly walking past the house (daily). He started when the clap for carers was happening, so we always give him a clip when we see him
I hope that's a typo Grin
thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 05/09/2020 20:55

Love this thread, it reads like if Blur decided to write a follow up song to Park Life Grin

Mine is: Spuggies (so bloody cute that I've ordered a bird feeder for them), loads of dog walkers, dog shit, people going to a fro from the shops wearing slippers (I don't know either Confused) or pulling along a suitcase (I'm assuming this is for shopping, we don't live near an airport /bus terminal/train stationConfused ) and my extremely nosy neighbour who is the salt of the earth and knows everyone whether they like it or not Grin

Natsku · 05/09/2020 20:58

Not much, people walking their dogs, sometimes children walking their bikes, the little lad that goes between his parents house at the bottom of the street and his grandparents house a few doors up, and the occasional car as people leave for work/come back from work and the post van 3 times a week.

GreenLowe · 05/09/2020 21:06

Lots of people walking their dogs, cycling and walking. It's a popular walking route. That said sometimes you can go hours without seeing anyone.

The deer in the field, pheasants, foxes, herons and birds of prey. Also the farmer working in his fields.

So many delivery vans. I think that my street is near single handedly keeping the economy going. I'd love to know what they're all ordering.

The maintenance company keeping the place relatively tidy. They're deafening as they use so many machines at once but thankfully they don't appear too often.

Children playing and people mowing their lawns.

GreenLowe · 05/09/2020 21:11

Also various birds, mostly woodpigeons and corvids though. There are few trees here so we don't see a bug variety in our gardens but we're opposite woodland and farmland so there's plenty of birds there.

There's a lot of young magpies around at the moment. They're so awkward and adorable. I feel like inviting them in.

Hills if I look out the back. And often sirens as we have fire, police and ambulance stations near by.

FitbitMum · 05/09/2020 21:12

This guy who walks his cat on a lead

Lots of kids playing

RoseMartha · 05/09/2020 21:18

Kids playing on other peoples gardens who don't actually have kids. But kids treat everyones gardens as their own and leave their mess /toys on all gardens but theirs.

A few people gardening. Most people dont bother much with their garden because of above thing with other peoples kids.

Lots of cats. A few people walking dogs.

Imissmoominmama · 05/09/2020 21:20

The ‘in bloom’ team, deadheading and watering. People shopping, or out for walks. On Thursdays it’s market day.

ClinkyMonkey · 05/09/2020 21:46

Quite a few cars driving by. Lots of cats. The occasional person walking or running - unlike at the start of lockdown, when it looked like our street was hosting the 2020 Belfast marathon.

What I really WANT to see (and possibly place in a headlock) is the owner of the dog which keeps leaving stealthy Mr Whippy style shites on our front lawn.
