Are dentists doing fillings yet? NHS or just private?

Depends on the dentist.

vaccines243 · 05/09/2020 17:27

so there is no policy then? Is it just up to individual dentists?

Mine isn't doing any routine treatment. Frustrating as the DC and I had check-ups booked for the beginning of April and still can't get in to see them.

Yes, it’s up to individual dentists.

Generally unless you’re in severe pain, bleeding or swollen, they won’t see you.

I’ve just changed as in due for a check up and my dentist won’t even consider taking bookings for the next 6 months! (Unless an emergency, obviously.) That was an NHS dentist. I called a private one and got an appointment for 4 weeks time, they are doing all treatment as usual now. I did ask on Facebook and it seemed mine was an exception in the area, most dentists seemed to be offering appointments now.

Both my private practices are doing routine normal work - we have been since June when we were allowed to reopen
And starting cosmetic treatment up shortly ie Invisalign and whitening
