Messenger - how to remove someone

Horsemad · 05/09/2020 13:32

I've got a few contacts on Messenger that I've had minimal chat with, usually strangers I've had contact with on our local FB pages about stuff.
How do I remove them from my chat list? It irritates me when I can see them as 'online' on my list when apart from the initial chat, we never converse.

Press and hold on the person on the chat list and a menu should come up with the option to delete

Omg I was literally trying to work out how to do this yesterday, I have so many people I've just had a brief chat with about buying or selling something!

yearinyearout · 05/09/2020 13:47

No option to delete, only block them. All well and good unless I want to buy something from them again on marketplace.

I can't see the option to delete either. When I press on the name, I get the conversation thread. I would like to know how I can delete someone, only those people I've bought from in the past and who have no other connection to me.

When you go to the initial page, where there's a long list of every chat you've had, if you press on the conversation and hold, mine comes up with a delete option

Horsemad · 05/09/2020 13:53

Excellent, thank you, have now deleted a few...! 🙂

Press and hold rather than just press. I've deleted a few now too. Didn't realise how many there were

dementedpixie · 05/09/2020 14:01

And you need to be on the main chat list
