My son gave me some money for my birthday. I have not spent it because of lockdown. I want to buy a Burberry scarf. I have always wanted one but they are expensive.

I'm looking on eBay. It's a bit of a minefield.

Question is would you go and buy a new one or would you buy one on that site with the logic that I might not get much use out of it, and if i do then go and buy the new one later?

Sorry if I sound a bit flaky here :)

Although it's not my thing, I'd buy a new one for 2 reasons a) it's the experience of going in store or online at the Burberry site & b) it's birthday money!

Hope this helps

My pleasure!
And so what if you don't wear your scarf very often, you will remember the experience & excitement of buying & will get pleasure from it.
And if future if you want to add to your scarf collection then go on eBay.

Happy birthday! Just wanted to echo the same sentiments as the pp and say go for a new one! The joy you will get from the experience will be what your lovely ds intended. Also - the packaging, shouldn't be an issue but who doesn't like a nicely wrapped present. On the other hand if you do decide to go for a vintage scarf please use one of the dedicated sites that provide authentication. Smile

If you can, buy a new one. The classic check comes in about a dozen? different colours, pick something that suits you and you might end up wearing it a lot more often than you think.
If this is what you've always wanted, go for the experience. Burberry will also put your initials on your scarf for free.

I only noticed afterwards that you mentioned it was a while ago! It's such a nice thing for a son to do, I can only dream of the day that money flows both ways with my children!Grin
