Is this normal for weight loss?

I've been consciously eating well since January but haven't noticed much of a difference at all until this week. All of a sudden I seem about a stone lighter. I was trying on my work clothes this week and they all looked baggy but it didn't make me happy. I just felt crap and yet I still don't feel like I look like a size 10.

Sounds like you have a disordered view of your body and that weight loss hasn't resolved your issues. Aside from healthy eating have you been improving your fitness? You may feel better emotionally and physically if you try it.

During lockdown proper I was doing a lot of jogging but it's fallen by the wayside recently.

I often find I eat well and exercise and nothing happens for a few weeks then suddenly there’s a significant loss.

How overweight are you? How far off your target are you?

Maybe buying some clothes that fit better will help you catch up with what you look like now.

I didn't really have a target weight. I was more concerned with what I was eating rather than my weight, but I'm now 9 stone from 10 and a half. I'm not very tall so I know I was definitely overweight at 10 and a half.

Maybe I do need nice new clothes.

Does that put you in the healthy bmi range? It sounds like you should be really proud o yourself.

For me, buying new clothes a size down from what I was before really helped me feel good.
