For my parents.
In their eighties, fairly fit, but both struggle to walk far.
They have everything!!!!
I know they won’t want to go for a mini break or meal because of Covid.
We can’t really do a family meal as there are too many of us and they have a tiny garden...plus they are in an area with enhanced measures currently.
Will go 50/50 with my sister so looking at around £100 to £150.00 in total.
Looked at someone doing a drawing of us all from photos, but no time.
Can’t get us all together at the same time for photo shoot type of thing.
I have seen a ‘memory’ type book which has news articles from a specific date, which also has pages for photos to be inserted?
Anyone got any ideas for us please? Anniversary is in just over two weeks time.

I have seen two very good presents. One was a custom made frame to hold the congratulations card from HM The Queen. It had an aperture for the picture, one for the message and one for the gold binding.

Another was a rose bush called Diamond or Diamond Anniversary.

Have you organised a congratulations card from the Palace? 😊

I looked into getting the card, but I need a copy of the marriage certificate. Brought it up in conversation a while ago, and mum said she had no idea where hers was, so I can’t sneakily get her copy.
Loike the idea of the rose bush, they both like the garden even though it is small.

You can order a copy of their marriage cert yourself but it can take a while for the card from HMQ, so it may not arrive in time.

What about a newspaper from the day they married?
Or, a picture of where they married - church or town?
Will PM you with something I did recently, as don't want to out myself. 🙂

You don't need the certificate! I was, like you going to order one and when I phoned up to order it they just took the information and then looked themselves. When they found the information they said they would send it to the palace. It was amazing how efficient it all was!
In answer to your original question we bought them the rose bush!

What about a hamper of all their favourite items? Or an Afternoon Tea delivered to the house - we did this and it was lovely.

Glendaruel · 05/09/2020 07:47

Was just going to suggest hamper! If they can't go out due to covid, bring the afternoon tea to them in a hamper.

Nonestopcaberet · 05/09/2020 09:49

We were planning to do the hamper, but my cousin has just sent them a big hamper as a thank you for my dad being executor of his dads will. I know they have tonnes of stuff left from that.
@BigcatLittlecat. That’s really interesting about the certificate! I’ll try to ring on Monday to see if it’s possible to do that. Thanks x

The rose idea is a good one as there are named varieties for lots of different special occasions. I've bought patio roses which I've potted in containers for Ruby and Golden weddings. They've gone down very well and are still going.

My parents love their friendship lamp that’s connected to mine and my brother’s lamps. There’s currently 30 per cent off so a set of three would be just a little over your budget www.friendlamps.co.uk/shop/friendship-lamp/
