Heartburn/GERD

Hi, I’m 18 weeks pregnant. I’m suffering awfully with GERD/heartburn, I’m literally climbing the walls. I’ve been prescribed and taking omeprazole and trying to stay away from anything bad. But lately anything sets it off, including water. It’s making me miserable, I’m so happy to be growing a tiny human but this wasn’t how I imagined it. Any tips or advice?

Murray mints. Honestly, nothing else touched it! You have my sympathies, it's horrid.

Apple cider vinegar in water worked for me when I was pregnant with DD1. Tastes absolutely foul, but did make a difference.

I always suffer from it in pregnancy too. I swear by a spoon of vinegar, works immediately. Also chewing gum is good for neutralising the acid in the stomach that causes heartburn.

On the plus size they say it means your dc will have lots of hair. Mine all did.

You can get apple cider vinegar in capsule form. Make sure it’s safe to take in pregnancy though.

Thank you all, I will try them all. I knew mumsnet would have some good answers for me.
