New job nerves - have I made a mistake!

I currently work for a college and only have 2 weeks left before I leave. We're working a mix of home and office atm. I've only been there 18m and I haven't really enjoyed the job.i haven't hated it but It's a bit boring and work is a bit repetitive.
Unfortunately my partner lost his job due to covid and I only work pt and there's no knowing how long it will be till he finds something so I also decided to look for a ft job and luckily got one.
I'm now having cold feet. I'm worried I'll find it boring. It won't have the same atmosphere as the college which is busy with lots of different types of people etc even though my job doesn't involve dealing with students. I'm worried that I'm making the right decision.

The last sentence should read
I'm worried that I'm making the wrong decision!

Congratulations on your new job Flowers

Maybe your subconscious deliberately typed the sentence as 'right decision' first if all as you deep down know it's the best thing to do?

Go in with an open mind, and at the end of the day if you really don't enjoy it you can look for a new job.

Do you think the fact you're going from pt to ft is a factor in worrying about if you've made the right decision?

Haha! I think the typo is just me being tired and nothing else!

I've just realised I've put 'at the end of the day'... you know what I mean, probably wait more than a day to decide to look elsewhere.

For all you know this job could be great and you could be there years!

Yeah I know. I think I'm just getting last minute nerves. I hope I've made the right decision.

But you’re doing it for financial reasons, so don’t worry.
You’re bound to be unsettled at first so just give it time.
If you absolutely hate the job you can move on when the financial pressure is off.

Yeah I guess. I think I just like working for a college. It's busy, diverse mix of people, different things going on. My new place looks really boring as an organisation.
